Theron was formerly a senior research analyst at Indus Capital Partners where he also held consultant and client service roles. From 2000 – 2008 he was an executive director at Morgan Stanley in Milan and London where he ran the global equity institutional desk. From 2005 – 2007 he published a widely read macro newsletter, the “Observations Digest”. Theron began his career at Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt in 1995, later moving to London. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), he graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 1995 with a degree in International Politics & Economics, and German.
Casey serves as an independent director at Calderwood, a fund Governance Firm launched in 2016. Prior to joining Calderwood, Casey was the Managing Director of the Cayman Islands’ office of a boutique insolvency and fraud investigation firm. Previous to that, he spent 15 years with KPMG in Canada, the Cayman Islands, London and most recently as a Director in the British Virgin Islands where he was a licensed involvency practitioner and led KPMG’s advisory practice there, as well as co-managed the office. Casey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accounts, INSOL, the Cayman Islands Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is also a Registered Professional Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association.
Mikael is partner and portfolio manager at Cognition Investment Partners and advises Eschler on markets and business issues. Prior to Cognition, Mikael worked at Farallon, a $20bn US hedge fund, since 2010 where he invested in F/X, fixed income and equity indices globally. He left Farallon in 2015 to raise capital and set up his strategy, whilst advising hedge funds on macro investments and developments. In 2016 he established Cognition Investment Partners with Lars Wind to develop a diversified uncorrelated hedge fund product. Mikael is the portfolio manager of Cognition’s Absolute Return Global Macro Strategy. Mikael simultaneously completed concurrent graduate degrees in Engineering Physics from Lund Institute of technology and Economics and Business from Lund University.
Richard has accumulated broad experience as an investment professional, developed over years of meeting top corporate executives, globally. He has managed assets at three of the largest institutional fund managers, including being a member of the global investment policy committees of two of these firms. In 2006, he established Stoneware Capital LLP to manage an offshore hedge fund, and has since expanded the firm to include establishing and managing funds in a variety of jurisdictions. Richard was formerly Chairman of CFA UK which entailed promoting the highest ethical standards and developing relationships with leaders across the profession: investors, managers, regulators, politicians, media and the public. Richard will advise Eschler on regulatory compliance, effective 1 July 2018.
